This cast iron waffle maker makes delicious waffles without toxic chemicals!

For a nutritious and delicious breakfast, our family loves to make whole grain waffles. While waffles traditionally conjure images of the Belgian-kind with whipped cream, sugary syrup and powdered sugar, waffles can actually be a healthy breakfast.

We like to make ours with a nutrient-dense whole grain waffle mix, flax seeds, fruit and crushed nuts to sprinkle on top. Sometimes fruit is mixed into the batter (great use of fresh or frozen fruits) and sometimes fruit is used as topping for the waffles. Freeze any extras, and you’ll appreciate them later in the week!

Since we are avoiding non-stick pans due to their toxic chemicals (perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA)), we were thrilled to find and enjoy this cast iron waffle maker.
